These days’ popular information, entertainment, social networking and reference sites make money by selling advertisement space and some products. Very few of them charge for access. However it may change in the future. Some widely used sites might start charging subscriber fees. I hope it doesn’t happen, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it does.

Search engines will provide more relevant results than they do today. In addition to improved search engines you’ll be able to find comprehensive internet directories and guides virtually on any subject. Therefore it will become easier to find useful information on line.

Blogs and personal videos will become even more popular. Fame hungry bloggers will go to any lengths to attract attention to them.

8. Newspapers and magazines

I think regular subscriptions for newspapers and magazines will decrease even further in the next 10 years. Some people like me still prefer paper editions, but younger generations, who are used to getting their news and entertainment over the Internet, will opt for online editions only.

Competition among newspapers and magazines will become even fiercer. More emphasis will be placed on entertaining readers rather than informing them, which is sad in my opinion.

9. PC

Personal computers will become even more powerful. No surprise here. Increasing number of PC users will use removable hard drive devices both for security and convenience purposes. There are already touch screen computers available for sale. Computers of the future will also have improved and easy to use voice recognition devices.

We’ll touch screen instead of clicking a mouse. Also we are going to speak text into a word processing program instead of typing. Great!? I am not so sure.
