10. Videos and music

LPs, cassettes and tapes are all in the past. They’re done and over with. We’re living in the disk age – CDs, DVDs… I think we are in for yet another media type. We are going to watch movies and listen to music with devices similar to flash drives. You’ll insert such device into video or music player and enjoy your films and songs.

11. Cars

Situation with cars is quiet predictable in my view. We’ll see more hybrid cars with better mileage. Japanese cars will continue to dominate automotive market.

Most cars will probably have built in guide systems similar to GPS. In addition to map assistance they will provide you with additional information such as traffic conditions and weather forecasts. Also autos of the future will be equipped with driving assistance devices helping you to change lanes safer and warning you about various dangers…

What is the major impact of changes described above? We are about to become society where being technology savvy is a must. Today you can do fine without any computer skills. You can still shop, bank, communicate, drive and go about your business without any hi-tech skills whatsoever. Just few years from now you won’t be able to accomplish much without at least basic knowledge of modern technology.
